Welcome to The Basketball Edge. My name is Mark Walker and my involvement in basketball
now has spanned over 30 years. I have experienced so much as a player,
administrator, spectator, parent, coaching director and finally my greatest passion which is
coaching the game itself. As a professional coach, I have built three 30-plus team junior programs,
including my club Central City Breakers, working with thousands of young athletes.
My greatest moment in coaching came in 1996 with the Australian Men’s Wheelchair Basketball Team.
This team won the Gold Medal at the Paralympic Games in Atlanta beating the USA on its home soil
en route to the title. My coaching career has been quite diverse, working with juniors and seniors (both domestic and
elite players) and also players with disabilities.
